Physical Exams in New York State

Did you know that you need a New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam if you plan on getting your commercial driver’s license? And more importantly, your physical has to be done by a qualified medical examiner. New York State requires the following CDL drivers have this medical exam to ensure that they are healthy enough to drive:

Once you complete your NYS DOT physical, one of our physicians will fill out the required form. Once approved, your certificate will be valid from anywhere between three months to two years depending on your medical history and the medical examiner’s discretion. Please keep in mind, it’s important to be truthful on your paperwork about your medical history. For example, people with type-1 diabetes who inject insulin cannot receive their CDL. If you are going for your CDL and need a DOT exam or need your need paperwork to be renewed, then look no further than Total Chiropractic Care and Wellness. Call (631) 447-2299 to schedule your appointment.
