Magnesphere Therapy in Medford, NY

What Is Magnesphere?

The “Magnesphere” is a Magnetic Resonance Therapy system that immerses the body in an extremely low-level magnetic field in order to enhance relaxation. The therapy may help ease the effects of chronic stress and its psychological and physiological impacts.

The Magnasphere was developed more than 25 years ago by Dr. Jerry Jacobsen, chief science officer of Magneceutical. It is the only technology currently available that creates entire body immersion in a single, uniform, low-level magnetic field to address stress-related health issues. Most other technology of this nature only treats one area of the body at a time, and the fields created are not as uniform.

Balancing the Autonomic Nervous System

With simple, brief 30-60 minute daily treatments, the Magnesphere’s field brings balance to the body’s autonomic nervous system (ANS). The ANS regulates all of the body’s involuntary processes, including heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, digestion, and sexual arousal. This is achieved by stimulating the vagus nerve, which connects the brain to many of the body’s systems, creating a balancing effect on the ANS to stimulate increased levels of relaxation, easing the strain on the body’s various systems.

Supported By Research

The FDA-approved claim of “Enhancing Relaxation” may help decrease the symptoms associated with chronic stress, including inflammation, chronic pain, low energy, digestive issues, and poor sleep. There are also no less than ten studies conducted over a 20-year period showing positive results for various health problems, including rate of wound healing and Parkinson’s to atrial fibrillation, and more. How Stress Can Impact Your Health

The impact of chronic stress on human health is well documented. Medical literature is quite clear on the subject, noting that chronic stress can be a prime factor in aggravating the majority of diseases and chronic conditions that plague the public. Inflammation, weight increases, disturbed sleeping patterns, and more are all made more problematic by the imbalances chronic stress creates in our physiology.

The Mayo Clinic notes that in addition to the physical strain that stress puts on the body, there is also a huge psychological impact. Anxiety, withdrawal from social situations, reduction in sex drive, and overeating are only a few of the ways in which that impact can be seen.

As a matter of fact, stress is often referred to as “The Silent Killer” because of its direct association with the six leading causes of death: heart disease, cancer, respiratory disorders, injuries from accidents, cirrhosis of the liver, and suicide.

The Strain of Fight or Flight

This imbalance is measured in the ANS, specifically the “Fight or Flight” response. Chronic activation of this response causes an ongoing flood of stress hormones and adrenaline. These hormones cause almost instantaneous physiological changes, including increased heart rate, breaking out in a sweat, and tightened muscles. This response is meant to keep you alive in sudden danger or threat. When the body is constantly in Fight or Flight mode these reactions, which are meant to be sporadic and short-term, put an excessive strain on the body and can cause or exacerbate a wide variety of health issues.
